Initially, this project consisted of freelance logo designs for esports teams and organizations. Logo commissions developed into a more concentrated effort on constructing complete brand identities. My intent was to create identity marks that were confident and timeless. I focused on the aspects of the brand recognition and the relationships of modern sports teams to their fan bases. I boiled identity marks down to the basics, concentrating on composition and the symbolism rather than the presence of peripheral style and fads.

Once the design work was completed, I created brand kits and mockups demonstrating the potential of each identity in digital and physical applications and environments. Some contained motion features and flexible layouts to address potential future-use scenarios. This provided the brands with an overall cohesive structure, confidence, and an adaptive identity. Visual design in this project taught me the many ways a brand might be perceived in the future and how simplicity, rather than a heavily-used design, communicates strength.

Brand recognition in sports as well as the telling of stories through the use of logo designs inspired the integration of excitement with professionalism. Following this, I moved on to sketching and transitioned to more defined works through Illustrator and Figma. I employed a limited color system, bold typography, and simple shapes that would withstand the test of time. My design style resulted in logos that were market attractive to sponsors and organizations as well as to players and fans.
